Snorkelling cu diabet

🇷🇴 Am facut pentru prima data snorkeling cu diabet. Nu am sa intru in detalii emotionale, precum cum mi s-a parut, cat de impresionant a fost sa vad coralii si pestii colorati, insa am sa va povetsesc CUM s-a petrecut din punct de vedere diabetic. Inainte sa intru sub apa aveam glicemia 172 in scadere. Nestiind sa anticipez nivelul de efort, reactiile organismului etc, am baut o doza de Coca-Cola. Nu voiam sa fac o hipoglicemie printre pesti si corali in mijlocul oceanului. Am deconectat pompa de insulina si mi-am dat voie sa uit de diabet. Am inotat sub apa vreo ora si ceva, iar la revenirea pe catamaran am recuplat pompa si glicemia era 126 stabila.

I will not go into emotional details, like how it felt, how overwhelming it was to see corals and colorful fish, but I will tell you HOW it happened from a diabetic point of view. Before I went underwater, my blood sugar was 172 slightly falling . Not knowing how to anticipate the level of effort, the body’s reactions, etc., I drank a dose of Coca-Cola. I didn’t want to go low in the middle of the ocean. I disconnected the insulin pump and allowed myself to forget about diabetes. I swam underwater for an hour or so, and when I returned to the catamaran I reconnected the pump and my blood sugar was 126 stable. Cheers to that!
